Radical Mindful Leaders Programme

A radical new programme for leaders with an established practice.

Please note: If you are looking for a traditional leadership programme, then this programme is Not for you.

Myself and my colleague Andrew McNeill are delighted to present a radical innovative programme for leaders with an established mindfulness practice, who wish to explore their leadership more deeply and in so doing, understand what it means to be a mindful leader, its impact on staff, their organisation and its networks.

If you recognise the challenges that leadership presents for you and others and understand that mindfulness can help develop your leadership, this course is for you.

The programme includes:

  • 6 x 2.5 hour sessions on successive Wednesday evenings

  • Access to a network of like-minded leaders

  • 3 x 75-minute Insight group meetings where you can share your experience, support with other leaders and deepen your practice

  • Ongoing access to monthly guided group practice sessions

  • The opportunity to join quarterly whole network meetings, with new and existing cohorts to explore your practice, experience and insights

  • Have the possibility of attending an annual retreat from 2022 onwards at a UK venue (this is our aspiration, subject to COVID-19 developments)

Participants have told us this Programme offers an opportunity to:

  • Deepen your formal and informal mindfulness practice

  • Cultivate and deepen attitudes such as: non-judgement, beginner’s mind, patience, acceptance, trust, non-striving, kindness, compassion, humility, letting go, authenticity and listening.

  • Explore what skills and capacities you want to develop as a leader

  • See clearly how you want to relate to others, your organisation and its networks

  • Consider what is next for your leadership journey

How is this achieved?

Participant’s leadership stories are at the heart of the Programme. People are invited to reflect on their leadership journey and listen openly to others’ stories. This simple approach can be revelatory and lead to immensely strong self-realisation and connection with other community members.

Through practice, participants explore a series of attitudes that can help develop their leadership, have space to consider how these attitudes can be applied in the ‘real world’ and what impact this would have on their leadership, their staff and organisation.

Through the Insight Groups participants share wicked issues and other life challenges they are experiencing without facing judgement; instead receiving appreciation, compassion and open inquiry.

Requirements

Taught live on-line, the only requirements for this advanced mindfulness programme are access to a laptop with Zoom, a reasonably quiet place where you will not be regularly disturbed and an existing practice.

Please note: This programme is not suitable for people who have no experience of mindfulness, it is not a refresher programme and it is not part of a teacher training programme. People whose practice has fallen into abeyance are welcome but would be expected to restart their practice ahead of the programme.

Myself and my colleague Andrew McNeill bring a wealth of experience to this programme from our personal long-standing mindfulness practice and our respective work with leaders, in organisational development and in running mindfulness programmes across all sectors. What we most care about is helping leaders awaken to becoming the type of leaders they want to be.

What leaders have said about this programme:

Over the period of this programme I have developed a deep sense of calm which comes from taking the time to reflect on the attitudes (beginner's mind, non-judgement, acceptance, trust, patience, non-striving, kindness, compassion, humility, authenticity) what they mean to me and where there is resistance. I have learned to really listen and found joy in compassion for others, self-compassion and acceptance. It has been inspiring and invigorating to share practice and silence with such wonderful people.

Anna Winton, Head of HR

An incredible journey that gently guides and creates experiences to develop deep learning and changes in attitude. A simple yet intangible learning experience that I will be reaping the benefits from for years to come. Thank you Andrew and Karen
